Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure Trophee des Champions Season-Opening Trophy in the Middle East.

PSG has now claimed the prestigious cup on 14 separate occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome their arch-rivals in the Gulf and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match featuring the French league winners and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side struck twice late to seize a shock advantage. Initially, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a crucial equaliser in the dying seconds to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping decisive attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and Desire Doue all scored successfully for PSG to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.
